Established in 1975, Overlander has been a leading player in the electric radio control market for over 30 years, assembling transmitter, receiver and car racing packs, while also pioneering many aspects of electricity powered flight. Overlander’s strength lies in the dedication to our core business- bespoke assembly of rechargeable batteries for the radio control model market, and specialist assemblies for industry. Recent rapid advances in battery technology and chemistry have been embraced by the company, enabling us to become a leading RC market innovator. Our customers include many health trusts, Universities, aerospace companies including BAE Systems, and even a successful Formula 1 team!

Only after rigorous testing and research do we allow new products into our range; all our products are used and tested with our flying team and many British competition participants. We are especially keen on testing our products at performance events, where quality really matters, and there is no scope for imperfection, like F5D Electric Pylon Racing, and Performance Hotliner F5B competitions. We are proud to say Overlander Lithium Polymer Extreme batteries placed 1st 2nd and 3rd in F5D, 1st and 2nd in F5B in 2009, and were used exclusively by the 2009 British 1/18th scale electric car racing champion.

Meet The Team

John, Managing Director

John took control of the company in the 1990s, already a keen modeller, looking for a new challenge related to his passion, radio controlled flight. Since the company has been under John's supervision it has gone from strength to strength.

Dave, Head of Marketing and IT

Dave is a graduate of the University of Central Lancashire with a background in Music, Design and Programming, and joined the team in October 2011. Dave's role within overlander consists of improving the usability of our systems, website and ordering procedures, and also providing designs for newsletters, brochures and posters; aiming to improve and maintain our systems to ensure our customers navigate through our products and ordering with ease.

Noreen, Head of Sales

Wife of MD John, Noreen is in charge of credit control and returns, and works as part of the sales team too. Her main experience of the R/C Model world is that of cleaning up the dining table after another of John's projects!

Hannah

Hannah is our customer service and sales adviser and helps Jon and Noreen in the office

Matthew

Matthew joined the team in September 2011, to help maintain our stock and ordering levels and systems. Matthew also covers our sales and will assist you with your enquiries and orders.

Gina

Gina is the Overlander accountant, and you will generally only get to hear her voice if you've been naughty with your account!

Jim

Jim assembles most of the NiMH and NiCad packs that we produce here in the UK. He is normally to be found heat shrinking or spot welding with a bit of Elvis on in the background!

Kath

Kath's desk is the last port of call for your order here at Overlander, she deals with shipping and making sure all the orders are processed and recorded.

Kayley

Kayley has worked at Overlander since the mid noughties, and deals mainly with the warehouse; keeping tabs on stock and the like.

Paul

Paul is our Sales Representative for the South of England, and drives around the country liaising with our retailers. Paul is a keen flyer and is on the Overlander flying team.

Stuart
