New SuperSport 30C Range!

Coming to Overlander towards the end of the month, is a new addition to our very popular range of LiPo batteries.

Our new 30C range will be available in a range of MaH ratings, and in 2 cell to 6 cell configurations. The 30C range will provide a higher power rating, with improved performance at the usual competitive rates that we at Overlander offer!

Our SuperSport range is constructed using the same “Stacking” method that is used throughout our range of LiPo batteries. Stacking the components of the cells and battery packs gives a stronger and more reliable voltage and current, and also provides a much longer lifespan of the battery.

We are expecting to receive the shipment of 30c SuperSport LiPo batteries this week and early May, so keep an eye on our website, and social media for news of their arrival.

Visit to China

This month, our MD John Kliszat jetted off to China to meet with our suppliers and manufacturers, and after some very helpful meetings and tours, compiled a collection of short videos and pictures that show how some of our LiPo batteries, and our motors are manufactured.

We at Overlander take great pride in our extensive product knowledge, and seeing the inner workings of our products helps us to understand the technology behind our brand. Stay tuned to the ‘Media’ page on our website for an overview of John’s trip, and an insight into some of our factories and practices.

Clearance!

With the summer season quickly approaching, it’s getting to that time of year to dust off your models and get out in the sun! To help with your wallet, and maybe some of those bits that you just cant find anywhere, we are shortly going to be introducing a clearance range to our website.

This will include items such as wires, heatshrink, connectors, horns, tail wheels, and many more assorted model accessories. Keep an eye on our website, facebook and twitter for more updates!

Battery Compliance and Batteryback Recycling!

Here at Overlander, we follow eco-friendly practices and modern compliancy to ensure our business and products are safe, follow guidelines and laws, and are not harmful for the environment. We have negotiated with our compliance regulator in association with Batteryback, to ensure that any waste batteries are properly disposed of, in compliance with WEEE regulations.

The Batteryback scheme allows us to organise battery bins and collection points in our loyal shops, and to dispose of our used and waste batteries in an environmentally friendly way. The battery bins are completely free, and help save the environment from harmful chemicals being improperly recycled. Call us today to claim your own!

New Venom connectors on selected Sport range LiPo’s

Here at Overlander, we are now proud to be providing a selection of our Sport Range of LiPo batteries, with the Venom® Plug system. This means one battery can be used with four seperate connector types, without the need for cutting, soldering or modifying the power leads in any way. Upcoming videos and media!

We are currently beginning to produce a number of helpful videos for our customers and flyers to view on our website, providing useful information, hints and tips and other techniques to help you use our equipment, and other products that you will find very useful!

We are also asking for you help on our videos. What would you like to see? Are you having trouble using one of our products? All you have to do is email Dave@Overlander.co.uk and we will produce a short video, answering your request.

Premium Sport Low Self Discharge

As previously mentioned, we have now introduced a new range of Low Self Discharge NIMH battery packs to our exsisting ‘Premium Sport’ range, with ten variations of pack sizes and variations for receivers and transmitters.

LSD NiMH batteries were introduced into the market in 2006, with monumental success. LSD NiMH facilitates the technologies of both alkaline and NiMH batteries, resulting in a cell that gives the best of both worlds; superb low discharge rates, long shelf life, recharge-ability and enhanced performance.

Overlander’s new additions to the range of Premium Sport batteries uses this technology, with a wide variety of applications, to provide superior performance and life of your cells and battery packs for motors, transmitter and receivers.

The new Overlander technology provides much higher performance, and has a much longer life than cheaper alternatives, but for a very affordable price. These cells and packs are now available in your local model shops.

Glitter Eneloop Packs

In late 2011 we introduced a short line of eneloop receiver and transmitter packs using the Eneloop “Glitter” cells, in a wide range of voltages, configurations and colours. After a brilliant response to these discounted battery packs, we now have only transmitter packs available. These are available in four different colours; Red, Pink, Gold and Green.

Airsoft and Buggy packs

We have now extended our range of High Power NIMH battery packs, providing a wider selection of super-high drain power packs for cars and airsoft applications.

All of our airsoft and car packs feature pure nickel tabs (double or treble tabbed), Capacitor discharge welding, Kapton, Nomex or TMK insulating tapes and soft silicone multi-strand wire leads. They also feature fast charge, gold plated pins in Tamiya plug, and top quality 14 AWG silicone wire.

These packs are available with our standard offers, at a very competitive price for such good quality!

 Manufacturing

Overlanders’ fine reputation for quality battery assembly began over 35 years ago, way back in mid 70’s when they started manufacturing packs for electric radio control cars in Leicester. The range of cells and packs has continued to grow to meet the needs of UK Radio Control modellers and industry.Most of our Overlander, Sanyo and Nimh packs are assembled here in the United Kingdom, on UK manufactured machines at our new factory in Forton, Lancs.  Our trained operatives always conform to manufacturers best practice assembly recommendations. 

Generally our other packs of batteries are assembled in our China facility to exact UK Overlander specifications, we take pride in visiting our suppliers, we regard all our products being sourced or manufactured in China as good as our “home grown” products. As a company we are also keen to see that there are good working conditions and ethical standards for these distant workers, and visit our suppliers regularly.
Upto 2010 our mainstream business served the Radio Control modeller, now we also manufacture and supply to  NHS trusts, University education and research departments, Aerospace industries and our products are also favoured by a major F1 team and motorcycle GP teams.

Our battery assembly department can design custom battery packs for your applications however small or large. Overlander complies with all European requirements and in 2012 is working to attain ISO9001 for our UK assembly factory.

Our bespoke battery production facilities include; custom battery pack assembly, computer controlled capacity testing, capacity discharge welding, wire assembly and production, lable design, and laminate printing
