Features / Advantages & Disadvantages

 

Ever since its commercialisation in early 2000’s, Lithium Ferro Phosphate has witnessed significant evolution and booming market shares

 

among all existing battery chemistries, thanks to the benefits that people have acquired through LiFePO4 battery in application, as well as to people’s idealized conception of the battery features as follows:

Advantages;

 

-       Prolonged life cycles, approximately 5 times longer than traditional lead acid technology.

-       Very safe; wont explode or ignite if over-charged, short circuited, impacted or exposed to excessive temperature.

-       Battery fully compliant with RoHS directive, not containing any heavy metallic element or toxic material.

-       Capability of rapid charging, low self-discharge, no memory effect.

-       Light weight and compact size.

-       High voltage level (3.2V) and stable discharge voltage plateau.

 

Disadvantages:

 

-       Less conductivity material, which in certain cased can result in insufficient capacity especially during high current charging and discharging.

-       Significantly reduced reliability under low temperatures.
